Ji-so is a 10-year old living in a pizza truck. Her dad is out of town and her mom lacks sense of reality, so Ji-so decides to get a house on her own. She finds a missing dog poster with a five-hundred-dollar reward and comes up with a plan. To find a rich dog, steal it and then return it as if she had found it. Ji-so’s gang spots Wolly, the dog of an old rich lady and sets out the plan. They also befriend a kindhearted homeless man who shares his wisdom. Meanwhile, the old lady’s nephew is also after Wolly for his aunt’s inheritance. Will Ji-so succeed in carrying out her sneaky dog-stealing plot?

He also meets two stagehands from the theater who take him to the home of the mysterious Sinheart, who offers to show him a trick that will dazzle audiences and let him beat Geoffrey. Harry carelessly accepts the offer, but doesn't realize what this will unleash.

The Holocaust? Again? That’s the first reaction of the members of a youth theatre company in Berlin when they hear they are to play the opera Brundibár. This young company, a group of problem children, are thrust back in time to the worst chapter of German history. They are tasked with studying a work which had its premiere in 1938 in the notorious Theresienstadt concentration camp. While working on the opera they get to know Greta Klingsberg, one of the few survivors from the original theatrical cast. Her optimistic approach to life changes the attitudes of the young cast toward history and the present. Thus the group gain an experience that would be hard to get in a school environment. When watching the premiere of the newly studied opera, a moved Greta feels she has already built up a deep friendship with the protagonists.

Her parents conceal this family tragedy from Bohdanka. On the threshold of adulthood the girls finds out about the curse and decides to free her brothers. The local witch advises her to sew shirts for her brothers. But no ordinary shirts – on her own she must pick nettles, make the thread, weave the cloth and sew each stitch. Bohdanka sets out on a long journey to rescue her brothers.
