ANIMATED FILM JURY

We would like to introduce you to the adult part of the jury for the international competition of animated film which will decide on the recipient of the Golden Slipper for the best animated film and the Award of Hermína Týrlova for a young creator under 35 years old.

Frodo Kuipers (*1976), an independent Dutch animator and director who studied animation in Tilburg before relocating to Belgian Gent where he graduated with his successful film Antipoden (2001).  His short animated films such as Streets (2005) and Shipwrecked (2005) which were created as part of his artistic residence at the institute of animated creation NIAf have also brought him recognition. Amongst his other short running films belong Bricks (2010) or Fata Morgana (2011).
Jaroslav Nykl (*1947), a Czech artist, animator and director of animated film, inspired by art work of  Jiří Trnka, has been working in the sphere of animated film for over 40 years and for many of those worked in Prague company Krátký film (Short Film). His films which are often inspired by distinctive music have become part of many film festivals' programmes. From his directing filmography we can note for example Mokrá pohádka (Wet Fairytale, 2003), Larghetto (2009) or Šedá pohádka (Grey Fairytale, 2011).  Jaroslav Nykl has made his stamp as an author on ZFF already. He supported the MINISALON - Film Clapperboards with his art pieces and moreover year before last he was fortunate enough to snatch away the Golden Slipper for his animated film Larghetto.
Jannik Hastrup (*1941), a Danish screenplay artist, director and producer is dubbed to be the master of Danish animated film. He has over 60 short animated films under his belt from which the Benny's Badekar, 1970 and Circleen, 1967-1971 belong to the classics.  A hit status amongst audiences as well as many award winnings have also been reached by his feature films such as War of the Birds (1990) and The Boy Who Wanted to BE a Bear (2003).
