Program tips for Monday 27.5.

On the fourth day of the festival, we pay tribute to the traveller Miroslav Zikmund, whose 100th birthday has inspired the theme of this year's ZFF: Explore & Discover. The screening of the film The Century of Miroslav Zikmund will be accompanied by a discussion with travellers and followers of the legendary traveler. There will also be the opening of the project Z100 exhibition, which set out to follow in the footsteps of H + Z after almost sixty years. An additional two trees will be added along the festival avenue, which will be planted by the Young Stars of this year's Zlín Film Festival. The winners of the Joy of Creation art competition for children with visual impairments will be announced. Regional bands will be given the opportunity to perform in the concert zone.

THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS OF DAY FOUR:

The Century of Miroslav Zikmund - film screening and discussion, Congress Center, 7:30 pm

- The biographical film The Century of Miroslav Zikmund provides a distinctive look at the turbulent history of the twentieth century through the eyes of a man who has explored the whole world. The following discussions will be attended by the ethnologist, writer and journalist Mnislav Zelený Atapana, traveller Dan Přibáň, Tomáš Vaňourek and Lukáš Socha from the Z100 project, and director Petr Horký

Z100 - A unique exhibition of retrospective photographs from the journeys of Hanzelka and Zikmund, Congress Center, foyer, 9 am - 7 pm

- The project maps the journey of H + Z from 1959 to 1964 and provides documentation from nearly 60 years ago. Learn how Eurasia has changed. The exhibition will last until May 31.

Planting the Festival Tree with Young Stars, University Park, 10 am

- Planting new trees along the festival avenue with the participation of Young Stars, who are young actresses Jordanne Jones (Ireland) and Eleanor Worthington-Cox (UK) this year.

Joy of Creation: Around the World - award ceremony, Congress Center, 1 pm

- This international art competition of children and youth with visual impairments has been part of ZFF for 22 years. The exhibition of competition works is in the U13 building and will last until May 31st.

Abe (directed by: Fernando Grostein Andrade, USA, Brazil, 2019, 85 min.), Golden Apple Cinema 2, 3:10 pm - He is twelve and his passion is cooking. He is tired of his role as a mediator between a politically quarrelsome family. But a meeting with African-Brazilian chef of the international restaurant Chic gives things a new dimension. Fig Tree (directed by: Aäläm-Wärqe Davidian, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Israel, 2018, 93 min.), Golden Apple Cinema 5, 7 pm - The life of Mina, a 16-year-old Jewish girl, mixes between the surrealistic routine dictated by Ethiopia's civil war and her last days spent with her Christian friend Elim. Christine Camenisch, Johannes Vetsch (CH): Rauschen / Effervescence - opening of an exhibition of video installations that fill the space and rewrite the surrounding architecture. The theme of effervescence refers to natural phenomena captured in Switzerland and minimized optically and acoustically. Kabinet T gallery, Building 12, 5:30 pm. On Monday at 3 pm, it will be transformed into the ScienceCafé with the Dean of TBU's Faculty of Technology Roman Čermák and the topic of The Plastic Age. At 7 pm, Vladimír Kroc will host the delegation for the new Czech film Scent of Oranges - screenwriter Iva Procházková and director Ivan Pokorný, followed by British actress Eleanor Worthington-Cox, one of this year's Young Stars.
