An Exhibition by Jaroslav Němeček Features the Famous Čtyřlístek
30. May 2026
Prominent Czech illustrator and comic book author Jaroslav Němeček is showcasing his most famous works at an exhibition. Visitors can see not only paintings of urban sceneries and landscapes, but also Čtyřlístek in a slightly unconventional form.
During the festival week, you can take a break between movies and head to one of the exhibitions in the center of Zlín. One of them is on display at the Václav Chad Gallery at Zlín Chateau and will especially delight those who grew up with the stories of Fifinka, Myšpulín, Bobík, and Pinďa.
For this special occasion, the author has placed the Čtyřlístek characters into the environment of Zlín. The exhibition blends the well-known comic book world with the city's atmosphere and showcases Jaroslav Němeček's work from a different angle than what most readers know from the comic book pages.
You can thus introduce your children to the stories you grew up with, or reminisce over the distinctive artistic style of one of the most prominent Czech comic book creators. The exhibition is open every day from 10:00 to 17:00 during the festival. If you do not make it this week, it will run until August 28, 2026. The opening ceremony took place on Friday, May 29, with the author himself in attendance.
Visitors could listen to his memories and stories connected with the creation of individual works. And if one exhibition is not enough for you, you can find others as part of the Zlín Film Festival. Worth noting are, for example, Miloš Macourek 100, Action! Akcja!, When Art Speaks, or Traces of Tomáš Baťa.
