Ranna’s Silence (2015)
Ranna is a seven-year-old girl who lives in a village located in northern Iran; she owns a special hen, Kakoli, which is a reminder of his grandmother. She loves it affectionately. The hen lays some eggs and she paints a chick on the eggs’ shell. She has a 12-year-old brother, Rahman. They sort the eggs in order to have a chick like Kakoli. Meanwhile, Kakoli is being hunted by a jackal. She gets too depressed and becomes passive. Rahman decides to put the eggs under the other hens but he doesn’t know that his mother has sold the eggs to a peddler. He intends to find the painted eggs in order to help his sister feel better; he therefore searches through the local markets of the village…

Biography
Behzad Rafiei (1962) is an actor and a filmmaker from Iran. He's worked for many years in TV, where he's made programs and feature films. He’s collaborated on the film works of other directors. He made his independent debut with the feature children's film Raana's Silence (2015), for which he has already won several awards.
