Zdeněk Skaunic received the award for maintaining the continuity of the Zlín Film Festival

On Thursday 29 May, during the opening ceremony, the Award for Maintaining the Continuity of the Zlín Film Festival and Zlín Film Production was awarded. The award was received from the hands of festival president Čestmir Vančura by Zdeněk Skaunic, former owner of the festival, producer and a key figure who helped the festival overcome one of the most difficult periods in its history.
Zdeněk Skaunic (1957) started his film career at Film Studio Zlín, where he gradually changed several leading positions up to the role of general director. After 1998, he participated in the founding of Ateliéry Bonton Zlín and subsequently was behind the founding of his own company Filmové ateliéry s.r.o.. He also significantly contributed to the establishment of the company Filmfest s.r.o., which still organizes the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Zlín.
During his career, he collaborated on more than 400 film and television projects. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Higher Vocational School of Film in Zlín as well as the Filmová klapka project, which links film art and charity. Even after many years he remained active - he continued to work as a producer and tirelessly supported the development of the audiovisual environment in Zlín.
