On Saturday, May 31, 2025, three exceptional masterclasses at Zlín Industry Days offered an inspiring behind-the-scenes look into the creation of films for children and youth. Film professionals from Germany, Canada, and Norway shared their experiences with the development, financing, and distribution of children’s content across continents.
Dennis Ruh, Director for the Film and Media shed light on how German children’s films reach international audiences, Canadian screenwriter and producer Dominic James emphasized the power of emotion and well-crafted characters in storytelling, and Norwegian director Christian Lo spoke about why stories for young audiences are the most important a filmmaker can tell.
