The first evening of the 65th Zlín Film Festival brought an unforgettable cultural experience - the 150-member Police Symphony Orchestra, together with Tomáš Klus and his band, performed on the stage in the city center. The concert, which offered music full of emotions and sincere joy, was created in cooperation with the Statutory City of Zlín.
The Police Symphony Orchestra is not just an ordinary symphonic ensemble. When the then fifteen-year-old Petra and her brother founded it in 2010 in a semi-dilapidated monastery rehearsal room in Police nad Metují, no one imagined that one day it would fill Lucerna, ring the Rudolfinum or perform alongside the French singer ZAZ. Today, the orchestra consists of over 150 musicians, singers and volunteers who combine classical, film melodies, swing, pop and rock on stage.
In Zlín, the orchestra performed in full force - and together with Tomáš Klus created an unforgettable evening. Their musical connection has worked before in several benefit concerts, and this time it was clear that they understand each other perfectly, both humanly and musically. Tomáš Klus and his band also played their own separate part of the concert, during which his original songs with typical poetics, humour and strong lyrics were performed.
After the concert, the programme moved to the summer cinema, where festival-goers could watch the documentary The Grand Finale of PSO - an inspiring film about how dreams can turn into reality if you follow them with your heart.
