As part of our popular MASTERCLASS format, we’re proud to present Norwegian director Christian Lo, a filmmaker renowned for his work in children’s and youth cinema. Zlín feels like home to him – his film Los Bando won the Main Prize of the Children's Jury at the 48th edition of our festival.

In this engaging masterclass, Christian Lo will share his journey into children's filmmaking, explain why he believes stories for young audiences hold the greatest power, and explore what makes a children’s film truly exceptional. If you're curious about how films that entertain and move audiences across generations are made, this session is not to be missed!
Throughout the festival, Christian Lo will also serve as a juror, evaluating competition entries as a member of the International Expert Jury for Feature Films for Children. You can find a complete list of all festival juries [here].
Christian Lo is a celebrated Norwegian director of children’s and youth films. His work focuses on entertaining, emotionally charged, and challenge-filled stories driven by strong characters. These stories are told through the eyes of young protagonists, with empathy and energy. His acclaimed films = including Los Bando, Mini-Zlatan and Uncle Darling, and Rafiki – have earned recognition at major festivals worldwide, including Berlinale, Cinekid, and Zlín.
