ZFF WELCOMES COMPOSER ANDREA MORRICONE

A huge start at this year's Zlín Film Festival is Maestro Andrea Morricone, one of the greatest contemporary Italian composers and conductors, and the son of the phenomenal composer Ennio Morricone. Andrea Morricone composed the musical composition for the film 72 Hours in Bangkok, a film by Czech director and producer Lubomir Haltmar, which is having its world premiere screening on Monday, May 28at the festival.

TRIP TO AUSTRIA

The 58th edition of the Zlín Film Festival will take place this year from 25 May to 2 June and, with approaching centenary of the founding of Czechoslovakia, it will be devoted to Czechoslovak film. Austria is among the European states celebrating a hundred years of its independence. The film festival will therefore also focus on this country and its cinematography.

THE 58TH ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL IS GETTING INTO THE SPIRIT TO CELEBRATE CZECHOSLOVAK FILM

The 58th Zlín Film Festival will feature 300 films from 55 countries around the world. In addition to representatives of traditional film superpowers, it will offer films from non-traditional countries, such as Swaziland, the Faroe Islands, Singapore, Venezuela, and Chile.

THE CLAPPERBOARD SALON'S FIRST TRIP TO BRUSSELS

Unique works of art created by leading Czech artists on film clapperboards will be on display at the European Parliament in Brussels April 23-24. This unique project has been an integral part of the supporting program of the Zlín Film Festival - International Film Festival for Children and Youth for twenty-one years. The event is taking place in cooperation with Member of the European Parliament Martina Dlabajová.

ORGANIZERS OF THE ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTED THEMES AND VISUAL CONCEPT OF THE 58TH FESTIVAL

This is the main theme of the 58th Zlín Film Festival, which is linked to this year's 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic. Complimenting this will be an Austrian movie section reminding us of the fact that our southern neighbor is also celebrating the same anniversary.  At the Congress Center in Zlín today, the organizers of the festival also presented the visual concept of this year's festival, which is based on the playful monkeys of artist Petr Nikl.

 The 58th Zlín Film Festival will feature 300 films from 55 countries around the world. In addition to representatives of traditional film superpowers, it will offer films from non-traditional countries, such as Swaziland, the Faroe Islands, Singapore, Venezuela, and Chile. The theme of this year's festival is the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Czechoslovakia, which will be presented in several film sections as well as in the supporting program. It will be supplemented with an Austrian film section and an American independent film section. The festival will start on May 25 and will run until June 2, 2018.
