Story Nr. 40: THE FESTIVAL´S TITLE SEQUENCE

The title sequence, together with the festival's visual style, is an identifying feature of the individual festival years. You can watch several of them on a youtube channel in the zlinfest profile. As you have probably noticed, for the last three years (and a brand new one for 2020 awaits us), the monkey motif from the pen of artist Petr Nikl has been repeated in our animated shorts.

Eliška Chytková, an animator and book illustrator, has been animating this for the last few years. Looking back in history, we also find those that were directed by well-known Czech artists. In 1992, Filip Renč took the director's chair and shot a nice mini-story of a film crew made up of kids. After the great success of the film Snowboarders, Karel Janák also visited the Zlín studio in 2005. Looking like an actual film itself, the short spot makes reference to block buster films like Indiana Jones, The Simpsons, The Matrix, Harry Potter, and The Addams Family. Director Vít Karas paid tribute to a world cinema great in the festival's theme song. Steven Spielberg and his friends, like little teenagers, start a crazy circus in one cinema. Marek Berger, a very talented former student of the Higher Vocational School in Zlín, shined with his Zeman-themed spot full of the imgainings of a child for the 50th anniversary in 2010. And what will this year's Back to the Future theme look like in the new spot for the 60th year? It will be great. Enjoy the anticipation!
