Program tips for SATURDAY 25.5.

The second day of the Zlín Film Festival will fully live up to the theme of Explore & Discover. There are several gatherings based on travel in the program. Steve Lichtag is taking audiences into the wild nature of the island of Aldabra, Dominik Bari will show us life in Oymyakon, the coldest village in the world, and Frank Thomas Grapl is bringing a Maori cultural group to showcase the popular Haka warrior dance. Day with Škoda Car is taking care of the all-day entertainment on Náměstí Míru Square, and in the evening the band Mirai will be playing in the Concert Zone.

THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS OF THE SECOND DAY:

Day with Skoda Car, Namesti Miru, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm

- entertainment all day long: magician Jirka Hadaš, a juggling workshop, Kvelb Theater, the bands Pirates and Neopets. A presentation of the new Škoda Scala, demonstrations of its safety features, special rally simulator, a penny-farthing bicycle riding school with Josef Zimovčák, games, competitions, and much more.

 

FROM THE FILM PROGRAM WE RECOMMEND:

Taiki (director:Mirjam de With, The Netherlands, 2018, 86 min.), Golden Apple Cinema 5, 9:00 am - Bruno does not want to go with his parents and sister on a trip to Sweden. He'd rather play games with Taiki, a virtual friend on the Internet. But Bruno's mother thinks he's addicted to playing and wants him to know the real world, which is much more amazing than the computer world.

You'll Never Walk Alone(directed by: Geng Xu, China, 2018, 106 min.), Golden Apple Cinema 6, 2:30 pm - A story in which football plays a central role, as well as one disaster that has shaken the world. The earthquake struck before these children even had the chance at a happy childhood. How are they to live on?

Measure of a Man (directed by: Jim Loach, USA, 2018, 100 min.), Golden Apple Cinema 6, 5:00 pm - The year 1976. New Yorker Bobby (14) is overweight and has self-confidence issues. Along with the start of summer and a part-time job at Lake Rumson in upstate New York, he embarks on a challenging transformative path into becoming a man. The film will be presented by director Jim Loach.

Friday's Child (directed by: A.J. Edwards, USA, 2018, 91 min.), Golden Apple Cinema 6, 7.30 pm - An 18-year-old has just left foster care and chooses a path of crime in order to survive on his own. He not only meets with unexpected friendship, but also a love that few could imagine.

Kristian Kodet - paintings and graphics – opening of an exhibition of one of the most important representatives of contemporary Czech painting. His work is characterized by dreamy images with themes of eyes, women and lovers. Galerie pod Radnici, 4:00 pm. The exhibition will last until June 8.

UNICEF - Children at War – an exhibition of large-format photographs depicting children whose lives were struck by war. Zlín Department Store, ground floor. The exhibition will last until June 1.

Mirai - concert of one of the greatest musical discoveries of the last year. The opening act will be Pamflet, one of the finalists of the “Band of the 59th Zlín Film Festival” competition. ENAPO Concert Zone, 7 pm

Wannado Festival - the biggest recruitment sports festival in the Czech Republic offers the opportunity to try out traditional sports, even those that children have never even dreamed of. Youth Stadium, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
