The film programme of ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL has also been considerably freshened up.

The film programme of ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL has also been considerably freshened up. There will be an out-of-competition section called A THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS added to the film programme for the first time. It will introduce fairytales and their film adaptations. Fairytales by classical Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen and their film adaptation will be used to premier and kick start this section at the festival.

Although it is also not part of the main competition, there has been another section created for the film programme - YOUNG STARS - which will introduce young, talented, aspiring actors and authors from around the globe.

The third novelty of ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL is the incorporation of ZLÍN DOG as a new part of the international competition. The specialist judging panel will be choosing from the best student work of future filmmaker hopefuls. The competitive categories are in animation, acted feature, documentary and new age film. Furthermore, there will be an award for the all round winner, TOP film of ZLÍN DOG, whose author will receive a prize worth 1000Euro.

A strong part of the festival is still the project RAINBOW MARBEL which focuses on film marketing. A pleasant surprise is that more and more students of the university in Zlín are getting involved in RAINBOW MARBEL project. The support of ZFF and University of Tomas Bata can finally reap what it had sown.

The ambition of the organisers is to make the Zlín showcase remarkable also due to the opportunities of meeting filmmakers and film specialists. A decision had been taken to widen the expert section called FILM INDUSTRY with the offer of plenty of seminars, workshops as well as master-class style lectures.
