    Depending on landing conditions, the observatory flight takes approximately one hour. Please reserve approx. 3 to 4 hours for the whole event.

  • The Imp’s Reading Room

    starting at 09:00 | František Bartoš Regional Library, Zlín

    The project was initiated in 2003 with the aim to support child reading. The Imp’s Reading Room organizes educational programmes for children featuring books in the main role.

    Part of this year’s programme is an exhibition of children’s works of art with the theme „Reality of Fantasy? – Karel Zeman’s 100th Anniversary – Czechoslovak Cinema“. The organizer of the competition is the Astra Children’s and Youth Centre in Zlín. The competition has for age categories and the works were made by children from elementary schools from Zlín. The best and awarded works will be put on display at the František Bartoš Regional Library in Zlín from May 31, 2010.

  • Joy of Creating - opening

    starting at 12:00 | Hotel Moskva, a conference hall

     

    Its main aim is to show to the general public what visually impaired children can do and in what respect is their way of expressing themselves different. Weak-sighted children, children with low vision, totally blind or deaf-and-blind, are full of ideas, have vivid imagination and can successfully use their working senses, especially touch.

    Every year, an expert jury selects almost forty best works. This year, the jurors will include the sculptor Bořek Zeman, Ota Kamenský, the owner of the Town Hall Gallery, and the graphic artist and painter Josef Ruszelák.

    This year’s main theme is „The Year and 12 Months“. A total of 20 prizes will be awarded to individuals, there will be four main prizes for individuals and four for groups. Personal prizes will be awarded by prominent personalities from the cultural and political life.

    In previous years, the works caught the attention of several distinguished festival guests – the actor Michael York, his wife, the photographer Pat York, Annie Girardot, Helena Růžičková, Petr Nárožný, Jiřina Bohdalová, Věra Šimková-Plívová, and a number of other celebrities.
