Synopsis: Drowsiness can become a permanent state of a human mind, preventing the person suffering from it from doing anything at all. Róza suffers from narcolepsy and had to give up her career as an actor. She lives in a luxurious apartment with her husband, whom she suspects of infidelity. Adam, a young physician, is trying to find his own way in life which would free him from his parent's idea of "a proper son's life". And Robert, a renowned writer, has not been able to find inspiration for his next work. The lives of these three characters meet at one point and they all wake up from their languid half-sleep for a little while. In her second, gripping film, the young director Magdalena Piekorz bets on the attractiveness of "casual" encounters that have the power to change the lives of individual characters. In a strange dreamy atmosphere, she depicts the often frail line between happiness and sadness.
Magdalena Piekorz: Magdalena Piekorz (1974) graduated in Directing from Silesian University in Katowice. She writes her own screenplays for her documentaries. She has worked in Poland, Bosnia, and the United States, where she directed documentaries such as The Incomers (1999, Przybysze). Her feature live-action debut The Welts (2004, Pregi) originated with support from Krzysztof Zanussi and is based on a screenplay by Wojciech Kuczok.
