Balcony party 3

Jun 4th 2009 | Both Czech and foreign film delegations appeared at today's party.

Amongst the numerous number of delegations at the party were: the delegates of the Czech film “Ulice: velká trojka” (The Street: The Big Three), the delegation of the Czech film “Kdopak by se vlka bál” (Who is Afraid of the Wolf) and the Canadian-Irish film “Záře duhy” (A Shine of the Rainbow) from the director Vica Sarina. Among these delegations appeared the Swedish film “Sny” (Dreams), the Italian movie “Zápisky” (Diaries) and the Canadian creators introduced the film “Adamova zeď” (Adam’s Wall).

The director of The Street: The Big Three Kryštof Hanzlík and author of the story Michal Reitler came to visit with the children cast of the film. The sibling duo Matyáš and Anna-Marie Valenta introduced the film in which they both star and which is according to its creators a “children’s detective story [meant] for adults”. When they asked Matyáš what mistakes had the director made, the 12-year-old actor said unaffectedly: “I don’t know. I don’t have any reservations about it, yet.”

The director Maria Procházková came with the 9-year-old actress Dorotka Dědková who answered all the questions easily, hence confirmed the words of the director that working with the children is great because of their naturalness and unspoiled character.

The director and screenwriter Vic Sarion also agreed with this. His film A Shine of the Rainbow of the Canadian-Irish co-production is being projected on Friday morning. Vic Saron was born in Kashmir, grew up in Australia and is now living in Canada.

The director Ivica Zubak of Yugoslavian origin spoke about his Swedish film Dreams which compete in the International Competition of Full-Length European Debuts. The film deals with the sorrows of a young man called Goran who is trying to solve his life problems. Should he fulfil the wishes of his dying mother and return to native Croatia or enjoy a single-man life of amusements and pleasure.

The Italian director Attilo Aeola and producer Stefano Renolt gave a short talk on their film Diaries in which three stories gradually merge into one summer adventure. The film received the Grand Prix Ecrans at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
