WHO WILL RAISE THE GRAND PRIX ZFF?

It would be a mistake to mix up the Award for Lifetime Achievement in film for children and youth with the Grand Prix ZFF.

It would be a mistake to mix up the Award for Lifetime Achievement in film for children and youth with the Grand Prix ZFF. The formerly mentioned award is predominantly designated for Czech creators for their contribution to film for children and youth (last year's winner Jiří Lábus). The main prize of the Zlín festival, otherwise known as the Grand Prix ZFF, is intended for those with great merit in development of cinematography mostly but not exclusively for children and youth.  The recipients of the Grand Prix ZFF can therefore be festival organisers, producers, TV script editors and members of other film professions.

The laureate for this year's Grand Prix ZFF is Canadian film producer and distributor ROCK DEMERS (*1933). Mr. Demers has been a wholehearted and regular visitor of Zlín festival for almost 50 years. His creativity focuses on children and youth in particular. A considerable part of his working careers is connected with the Czech Republic, specifically with the names of Břetislav Pojar and Vojtěch Jasný . Zlín festival will have a unique opportunity to introduce these two world renowned men - Rock Demers and Vojtěch Jasný - whose combined MASTER CLASS for students and the public will be presented by a young Spanish director and documentary maker Arkaitz Basterra.
